ParticipantThinking about switching my cat to Natural Balance and would love some real feedback before I commit! My local pet store owner keeps pushing it, saying it’s great for sensitive stomachs.
My cat Luna (4 years old) has been having some digestive issues lately occasional vomiting and soft stools. Not terrible, but enough to worry me. Currently feeding her a grocery store brand.
Anyone here use Natural Balance? Does it actually help with tummy troubles? How do your cats like the taste? Worth the price jump?
Thanks! π

ParticipantABSOLUTE GAME CHANGER!! π My cat has been on Stella & Chewy’s freeze-dried raw for 8 months now and WOW the difference is incredible! His coat is so shiny it literally looks like he’s glowing! His breath doesn’t smell bad anymore (raw diet benefit!), his teeth are cleaner, and he has SO much energy!
Yes it’s pricey – I spend about $90/month for one cat – but seeing him thrive makes it totally worth it! The chicken formula is his favorite. Pro tip: rehydrate it with warm water to make it go further and add moisture! Best investment in his health I’ve ever made! πβ¨

ParticipantTried it and my cat was NOT a fan π I think the texture was too different from what she’s used to? She sniffed it, took one tiny bite, and walked away looking insulted lol. I tried rehydrating it, serving it dry, mixing with her old food… nothing worked. Ended up giving the bag to my friend whose cat loved it! So the quality is definitely there, just didn’t match my cat’s preferences. Every kitty is different! π±

ParticipantOKAY THIS IS EXACTLY WHAT I NEEDED TO SEE!! π I’ve been researching raw diets for MONTHS but was too nervous to try! The fact that it’s freeze-dried makes it so much easier than actual raw meat prep. Ordering the variety pack right now! Fingers crossed my picky boy likes it! Which protein should I start with?? So excited to try this! πβ¨

ParticipantFeline nutritionist here! π©ββοΈ Stella & Chewy is one of the best freeze-dried raw options available! The freeze-drying process preserves nutrients while eliminating pathogens, so it’s safer than feeding actual raw meat. High protein, minimal carbs, natural enzymes intact – it mimics what cats would eat in the wild! The bone content is great for dental health too. Just make sure to transition slowly and provide fresh water! Some cats need time to adjust to the richness. Excellent choice for cat parents wanting to feed raw safely! πβ¨

ParticipantYes it’s expensive, but let me break it down:
Stella & Chewy: $4-5 per day for average cat
Premium wet food: $3-4 per day
Mid-range kibble: $1-2 per daySo it’s about $120-150/month versus $60-90 for premium wet. HOWEVER – my cat eats less because it’s so nutrient-dense! Plus I’m saving on vet bills (no more dental cleanings needed!). When you factor in health benefits and reduced vet costs, it’s actually not as crazy as it seems! Quality over quantity! π

ParticipantMY CAT IS LITERALLY ADDICTED!! π» Like I’m not even joking – she KNOWS the sound of me opening that bag and comes running from anywhere in the house! She does this excited chirping sound and dances around my feet! Never seen her this enthusiastic about food ever! The duck & goose formula is her absolute favorite! She licks every crumb off her plate! It’s like cat crack lol! I love seeing her so excited and happy at mealtime! ππ

ParticipantFor anyone worried about raw food safety freeze-dried is THE way to go! π¦ I was terrified of bacteria with raw feeding but Stella & Chewy uses HPP (high pressure processing) to eliminate pathogens while keeping nutrients intact. It’s safe to handle, doesn’t need refrigeration until rehydrated, and has long shelf life! Best of both worlds raw nutrition without the scary bacteria risks! Did tons of research before trying and felt totally comfortable! πβ¨

ParticipantWarning for multi-cat homes! β οΈ This food is SO appealing that my cats started fighting over it lol! Had to start feeding them in separate rooms because they’d try to steal from each other’s bowls. Never had that problem with regular food! Just something to be aware of if you have multiple kitties. The food aggression was real! π Worth it though they’re all healthier and happier!

ParticipantI’ve used both extensively so here’s my comparison:
Stella & Chewy wins for:
Better texture (my cats prefer it!)
More protein variety options
Easier to crumble/rehydrate
Better availability in stores
Slightly more affordablePrimal wins for:
Comes in nugget form (some prefer this)
Some unique protein options
Slightly higher fat content (good for underweight cats)My verdict: Both are excellent quality! I personally prefer Stella & Chewy because my cats like it better and it’s easier to work with. But you can’t go wrong with either brand! Try both and see what YOUR cat prefers! πΎπ

ParticipantDENTAL HEALTH IMPROVEMENT!! π¦· This is HUGE my cat used to need annual dental cleanings at the vet ($300+ each time!). Since switching to Stella & Chewy 18 months ago, his last two checkups showed NO tartar buildup! The vet said his teeth look amazing! The raw bones in the food naturally clean teeth! I’ve literally saved $600+ on dental cleanings! That makes the food cost way more reasonable! Plus no anesthesia risks from dental procedures! Win-win! πͺβ¨

ParticipantPerfect for WEIGHT MANAGEMENT! π― My cat was getting chunky on kibble (even the weight control formulas). Switched to Stella & Chewy and he naturally lost 2.5 pounds over 4 months without me even trying! The high protein keeps him full and satisfied with smaller portions. He’s at perfect weight now and maintaining it easily! Vet is thrilled! If your cat needs to slim down, raw food might be the answer! π

ParticipantTRAVEL TIP!! βοΈ The freeze-dried format is PERFECT for traveling with your cat! Doesn’t need refrigeration, super lightweight, takes up minimal space! I just bring a small container and his regular food routine continues even on vacation! Way easier than wet food cans or trying to find his specific kibble in another city! This convenience factor is underrated! ππ±

ParticipantMy senior cat (16 years old!) is thriving on this! 𧑠Her vet was hesitant at first about switching an older cat’s diet, but she’s doing AMAZING! More energy than she’s had in years, her arthritis seems less bothersome, her coat looks beautiful! The digestibility is perfect for her aging system. Don’t be afraid to upgrade your senior’s food they deserve quality nutrition especially in their golden years! She acts like a kitten again! πβ¨

ParticipantTwo years with Stella & Chewy and I’m a FOREVER customer!! π My cat Oliver is the healthiest he’s ever been perfect weight, stunning coat, clean teeth, tons of energy, and just radiates good health! Every vet visit they comment on how great he looks! Yes I spend about $100/month on his food, but he’s family and he deserves the best! The quality of his life has improved SO much! He’s happier, more playful, more affectionate!
Raw feeding seemed scary at first but Stella & Chewy makes it SO easy and safe! If you’re on the fence, just TRY it! Start with one bag mixed with current food and see the difference! Your cat will thank you with purrs, head bonks, and those adorable slow blinks! Trust me – once you see the transformation, you’ll never go back! Best decision I ever made for my furry soulmate! π»ππ
