ParticipantI’ve been trying out Untamed cat food lately (and also grabbed a few cans of 4health Untamed from Tractor Supply), so I wanted to hear what other cat owners think. I started with the Untamed wet cat food and then added some Untamed dry cat food into the rotation. My cats really liked the chicken and turkey recipes, especially the gravy ones bowls were wiped clean. 😻
I’ve seen a lot of mixed opinions online, especially on Reddit and Trustpilot, so I’m curious about real experiences. Has anyone noticed changes in energy, coat, digestion, or weight after switching to Untamed? And for those feeding 4health Untamed, how does it compare to Taste of the Wild or other grain-free brands?
I’m also wondering about the cost side
- How much does Untamed cat food cost per month?
- Is it cheaper to buy through their site, Amazon, or in stores?
- Anyone using discount codes or subscription deals?
Also, does anyone know if Untamed cat food is raw or just high-meat cooked food? And where exactly is it made? I’ve found different answers.
Would love to hear honest reviews wet food, dry food, good experiences, bad ones, anything helpful. Trying to decide if Untamed (or 4health Untamed) is really worth the price.

ParticipantI’m in UK and have been using Untamed for about six months. The fresh preparation and high meat content really show in quality. My cat absolutely loves it and her coat has never looked better. Digestion is perfect, energy levels excellent. The subscription delivery works smoothly with flexible scheduling. Costs roughly £2.50-3 per day which is premium but quality justifies it. For UK residents, it’s excellent fresh option. Not sure about international availability though.

ParticipantI’m in US and looked into Untamed but they don’t ship internationally. The UK-only availability makes it inaccessible for American cat owners unfortunately. Seems like quality option for British customers but not practical solution for those outside UK. Would need to find equivalent fresh food services available domestically.

ParticipantThe UK focus makes sense for fresh food requiring cold chain logistics. International shipping of refrigerated products becomes prohibitively expensive and complicated. For UK residents this looks like quality option. For everyone else, need to find local fresh food alternatives like Smalls or Nom Nom in US.

ParticipantUNTAMED EXPERIENCE – UK CUSTOMER PERSPECTIVE
My six-month journey with Untamed:
Month 1: Trial box arrived well-packaged with ice packs. Started with chicken variety. My cat showed immediate interest in fresh smell. She devoured first serving enthusiastically.
Month 2: Full subscription started. Rotating between chicken, turkey, and salmon. Her enthusiasm remained high for every meal. Coat started developing noticeable shine.
Month 3: Digestion perfect throughout – firm stools, no upset whatsoever. Energy levels increased noticeably. She became more playful and active.
Month 4: Vet checkup showed excellent body condition and healthy bloodwork. Vet asked what I was feeding because she looked so good.
Month 5-6: Maintained peak condition. Coat stunning, energy high, perfect weight. The fresh preparation really does make difference compared to shelf-stable foods.
Monthly cost: Approximately £75-90 per month. Premium pricing but she’s thriving.
Note: UK-only availability limits who can access this quality option.

ParticipantUntamed emphasizes high meat content (typically 60-70%) with human-grade ingredients and fresh preparation. The UK based operation focuses on gentle cooking preserving nutrients. Subscription model ensures regular fresh delivery. For UK residents, represents quality fresh feeding option. International customers need local alternatives as fresh food shipping internationally isn’t practical. The fresh format provides benefits over heavily processed alternatives for those with access.

ParticipantThe subscription flexibility allows adjusting delivery frequency and skipping shipments when needed. As UK customer, I appreciate the management options. Can pause if traveling or adjust portions based on cat’s needs. The customer service responds helpfully to questions.

ParticipantFor US customers looking for similar fresh food options, consider domestic alternatives:
Smalls (fresh delivery)
Nom Nom (fresh subscription)
Freshpet (refrigerated retail)
The Farmer’s Dog (fresh delivery)These provide fresh feeding without international logistics complications.

ParticipantThe high meat content and fresh preparation distinguish Untamed from conventional shelf-stable foods. Gentle cooking preserves more nutrients than high-heat processing required for shelf stability. For those with access, fresh format provides genuine nutritional advantages.

ParticipantI tried Untamed cat food a few months ago because my boy Milo kept turning his nose up at everything else. The Untamed wet cat food was an instant hit, especially the chicken gravy trays. I’ve also tried 4health Untamed from Tractor Supply, and honestly it’s not bad either, kind of reminds me of Taste of the Wild but gentler on his stomach. Cost-wise, Untamed is pricier, but they sometimes offer a discount code on their site. Milo’s coat looks silkier, though I still mix in some Kirkland Signature dry just to keep things affordable.

ParticipantMy cats didn’t go crazy for the Untamed dry cat food, but the wet recipes were a total win. The texture seems softer than Pure Cravings, and the smell is less fishy which I prefer. I checked Reddit and saw people mention inconsistencies in shipping, but mine arrived fine. Monthly cost for me is around $60 for two cats, so not terrible. I still keep Nature’s Domain around as a backup because one of mine likes the crunch. Energy levels improved a bit, but nothing drastic.

ParticipantI’ve used 4health Untamed cat food from Tractor Supply for about a year now. My senior girl likes the turkey and lentil recipe better than the duck one. I haven’t tried the actual Untamed brand yet because of the price, but 4health Untamed feels similar to Taste of the Wild. It’s one of the only grain-free foods that doesn’t upset her digestion. Price is good—way cheaper than the boxes from Amazon. I combine it with Nutra Nuggets sometimes when I’m stretching the budget.

ParticipantUntamed wet food was a nice surprise for my picky calico. I swear she refuses everything except foods with a strong smell, and the turkey recipe hit the spot. The cost of Untamed cat food is the only thing stopping me from switching fully. Their site subscription is cheaper than Amazon, but still adds up. I checked where Untamed cat food is made, and some sources say EU-made, others say somewhere else, so I’m not sure. No issues with digestion though, unlike when I tried Pure Cravings last year.
