ParticipantI just wanted to start this thread because I’ve been using Halo Cat Food for my two cats for a while now, and honestly… I’m not sure how I feel about it anymore. I started with the Halo Holistic Chicken Recipe, and at first, my cats loved it shiny coats, fewer hairballs, and good energy. But lately, I’ve noticed they’re not eating it as eagerly, and I heard some people say the formula might have changed since the brand rebranding to Halo Elevate.
Has anyone else noticed this? I’m wondering if it’s just my cats being picky or if Halo Holistic Cat Food really isn’t what it used to be.
I’ve tried both the wet and dry versions, including the Halo Chicken Pâté and Grain-Free Dry Food. The wet one smells fine, but the texture feels different from before. I also saw online rumors about Halo being discontinued, so I’m kind of nervous about switching brands if that’s true.
- Would love to hear your honest thoughts
- Are you still using Halo Cat Food?
- Have you tried Halo Elevate or Halo Sensitive Stomach formulas?
- Any luck with picky eaters or digestive issues?
- And where do you usually buy it Chewy, Amazon, or PetSmart?
Let’s make this a space to share real experiences with Halo Cat Food what’s working, what’s not, and what you’re switching to if you’ve moved on.
Feed Your Cat the Best with Halo Cat Food!High-quality meals loved by cats and trusted by owners.🥇 2432+ repeat purchases in 30 days!11/12/2025 at 8:51 am #3697CatDietChat
ParticipantI switched to Halo Holistic cat food a few months back after trying a bunch of brands like Pure Cravings and Nutra Nuggets. Honestly, my picky eater finally finishes her bowl! I love that the ingredients are super clean and no meat meal stuff. The chicken recipe smells like actual food, not chemicals. I mix their dry cat food with Halo canned chicken stew to keep things interesting. Her fur feels smoother, and she’s stopped throwing up after meals. Definitely sticking with Halo for now.

ParticipantHalo cat food is one of the few my vet actually recommended. I’ve been using the Halo Holistic grain-free dry food for my two indoor cats, and they’re thriving. I used to feed Kirkland Signature because it was affordable, but Halo feels lighter and more nutritious. Their poop even smells less intense (we all know that’s a win). I also grab the Halo wet cat food pouches when they go on sale on Chewy great for adding extra hydration.

ParticipantI’m heartbroken because I heard someone say Halo cat food might be discontinued. Is that true? My cats adore their Spot’s Stew chicken recipe it’s been a staple for years. It’s one of the only foods that doesn’t upset my sensitive cat’s stomach. I’ve tried switching to Nature’s Domain and Pure Cravings, but nothing compares to how well my cats digest Halo. If anyone knows where to buy Halo cat food near me or online, please share!

ParticipantHalo canned cat food is my go-to! The texture is perfect not too watery, not too thick. My senior cat with dental issues loves the chicken pâté version. I used to buy Nutra Nuggets wet food, but Halo smells fresher and looks like real food. The best part? No weird preservatives or artificial stuff. I get mine from Amazon because my local PetSmart doesn’t always have the full selection. Pro tip: mix a spoon of wet Halo with dry kibble for better hydration!

ParticipantI started feeding Halo dry cat food about six months ago after my cat kept getting stomach issues with Kirkland Signature. The difference was night and day! No more vomiting, shinier coat, and she seems more energetic. I alternate between the Halo Holistic chicken and salmon flavors to keep her interested. I also tried Pure Cravings for a bit, but Halo won for consistency and smell. It’s pricier, yes, but you can often find coupons on Chewy or Amazon.

ParticipantHas anyone else noticed how Halo’s ingredients list reads like real food? Chicken, peas, carrots no by-products. I used to be skeptical about all the “holistic” marketing, but it seems to deliver. My cat, Luna, especially loves the Halo chicken stew wet cat food. It’s grain-free and keeps her coat silky. I used to rotate Nature’s Domain and Canidae, but Halo has become my mainstay. I just wish it came in bigger cans because we go through them fast!

ParticipantHalo Holistic cat food really helped my overweight cat lose weight gradually. I use the Halo Healthy Weight chicken formula, and he’s down two pounds since spring. The kibble’s smaller and smells mild. I pair it with a bit of wet food from Pure Cravings for variety. I used to give him Kirkland Signature, but it had too many fillers. Halo seems better balanced. The price stings a little, but his energy levels and overall mood improved so much.

ParticipantMy cats are obsessed with the Halo Chicken Pâté cans. I used to buy Nutra Nuggets and Pure Cravings for variety, but they always left half behind. Halo? Clean plates every time. The texture is soft enough for my older cat, and even my younger one doesn’t get bored. I also tried their grain free dry food super crunchy, smells nice, and keeps their breath decent. It’s available on Amazon, but I found it cheaper once on Petco during a sale.

ParticipantJust wanted to say that Halo’s Spot’s Stew Chicken Cat Food saved my cat’s skin! She had awful dandruff before, and after a month on Halo Holistic dry food, it disappeared. I used to think only expensive brands like Orijen or Nature’s Domain worked, but Halo’s quality surprised me. The ingredients are transparent and no sketchy “chicken meal” stuff. The only downside? My store sometimes runs out, so I keep an extra bag in stock just in case.

ParticipantMy cat’s been eating Halo grain-free cat food for two years now, and I can’t imagine switching. The salmon flavor keeps her fur shiny and her tummy happy. Before Halo, I tried Kirkland Signature and Nutra Nuggets, but they caused hairballs and soft stool. I also use Halo wet food for dinner time to keep her hydrated. The portions are just right, and it never smells overly strong. Definitely feels like a high-quality cat food without the crazy Orijen price tag.

ParticipantIs anyone else feeding the Halo Elevate line? I just found it at PetSmart and picked up the indoor dry cat food. My cats went wild for it. The kibble shape is different easier to chew. I was rotating between Pure Cravings and Canidae before, but I think Halo’s formula might take the top spot. The ingredient quality feels like something I’d cook myself. And the packaging’s super cute too, which doesn’t hurt.

ParticipantI bought Halo Holistic canned cat food on Chewy when it was on sale wow, game changer! The stew-style texture actually looks appetizing, unlike most wet cat foods. My cat with a sensitive stomach didn’t throw up once, and she usually reacts to everything. Before this, I used Nature’s Domain, which was okay, but Halo seems gentler. I love that they use whole meat, not meals or fillers. I’m stocking up before they change the formula again!

ParticipantHalo’s chicken stew wet cat food smells like something I’d cook in my kitchen not that weird canned odor you usually get. My two cats both love it, and their coats have become softer and thicker. I used to rely on Nutra Nuggets for affordability, but after switching, I realized what real nutrition looks like. The only issue is the availability sometimes Amazon runs out. If you see it in stock, grab it fast.

ParticipantI’ve been reading about Halo cat food possibly being discontinued, and I’m panicking. My cats only eat the Halo Holistic Sensitive Stomach formula, and nothing else works for them. I tried Pure Cravings and Kirkland Signature as backups, but my cats just sniff and walk away. Halo’s been so reliable for digestion and coat health. If anyone finds updates on where to buy Halo cat food near me or online, please drop a link here!
