ParticipantI wanted to see if anyone else here has tried Whole Earth Farms Cat Food. I started feeding my cats their grain-free wet food a few months back mostly the chicken and salmon recipes and honestly, they were doing great on it. Nice coats, no tummy issues, and they actually finished their bowls (which is rare in my house!).
But lately, I’ve noticed that Whole Earth Farms cat food is harder to find. Petco and Chewy seem to be out of stock, and I even saw some people saying it might be discontinued. 😕 Does anyone know if that’s true or if it’s just a supply issue?
If it’s gone for good, I’d love to hear what similar cat food brands you’ve switched to. Something with clean ingredients and grain-free, like Whole Earth Farms used to be.
Also, if anyone’s still using the dry food or the duck pâté cans how’s your cat doing on it lately? Did you notice any recipe changes?
Would appreciate any updates or suggestions! 🐾

ParticipantI’m in the same boat as you! My cat absolutely loved Whole Earth Farms wet cat food, especially the chicken recipe. It was one of the few grain-free brands that didn’t upset her stomach. Lately, though, I can’t find it anywhere Chewy, Petco, even Amazon are showing “out of stock.” I saw a few people online mentioning that Whole Earth Farms cat food might be discontinued after Merrick changed ownership. I really hope it’s just temporary because finding a clean, naturally complete brand like this is tough.

ParticipantI’ve been feeding my two rescues Whole Earth Farms salmon cat food for over a year, and they’ve done great on it. Shiny coats, solid energy, no allergies. When I noticed it disappearing from shelves, I panicked a little. 😅 I called Petco, and the staff said they weren’t sure when or if it’s coming back. They recommended switching to something similar like Pure Cravings or Nature’s Domain, but my cats can tell the difference immediately. Whole Earth Farms was such a balanced formula.

ParticipantI think Whole Earth Farms cat food discontinued some of their lines quietly. My PetSmart used to stock both the grain-free dry and canned versions, and now there’s just empty shelf space. I emailed Merrick, and they said they’re “re-evaluating the product line.” Not a good sign. My senior cat loved the duck pâté so smooth and easy on her digestion. I tried Nutra Nuggets recently as a replacement, but it’s not quite the same texture or smell she liked.

ParticipantI used Whole Earth Farms grain free dry cat food for my two Bengals for ages. They did amazing on it solid weight, less shedding, and fewer hairballs. I’m really bummed it’s out of stock everywhere. I tried Kirkland Signature cat food from Costco as a backup. It’s okay, but not as rich in protein as Whole Earth Farms used to be. I’d honestly buy in bulk if they ever bring it back. Merrick should really communicate what’s going on with this brand.

ParticipantJust chiming in to say I also can’t find Whole Earth Farms wet cat food anymore. I used to get the naturally complete chicken and salmon cans from Chewy. My cat loved the taste, and it didn’t cause the bloating other foods did. I switched to Pure Cravings tuna variety, but my cat’s not thrilled. If anyone knows a grain-free alternative that’s not loaded with fillers, please share! I don’t want to compromise on quality just because Whole Earth Farms is disappearing.

ParticipantSame issue here my Whole Earth Farms canned cat food shipment from Chewy got canceled due to “supplier delay.” That’s never a good sign. 😔 My picky eater used to devour the chicken and duck pâté. I checked Merrick’s website, and they’ve quietly removed most of the Whole Earth Farms cat food pages. Maybe they’re discontinuing it for good? I’m testing out Nutra Nuggets wet food right now, but I wish Whole Earth Farms would make a comeback.

ParticipantI still have a few cans of the salmon recipe from Whole Earth Farms left, and I’m rationing them like gold 😂. My cats love the flavor and the soft texture. I’ve tried switching to other brands like Nature’s Domain or Pure Cravings, but the reactions weren’t the same. Whole Earth Farms just seemed “cleaner.” I read somewhere it was made in the USA, and that’s one of the reasons I trusted it. If anyone hears if it’s coming back, please update us!

ParticipantMy cat had some skin allergy issues, and Whole Earth Farms grain-free cat food was the only thing that helped. The dry formula with chicken worked like magic. I can’t believe it’s suddenly gone! Petco told me Merrick might be shifting focus toward their main brand, which is disappointing. I’ve been testing Lotus cat food as a replacement it’s oven-baked and grain-free like Whole Earth Farms, but it’s a bit pricey. Still, quality-wise, it feels close.

ParticipantYep, it’s been super frustrating! Whole Earth Farms cat food near me has totally vanished. The store clerk said the last shipment they got was months ago. I’ve since switched to Pure Cravings wet food, and while my cat eats it, she doesn’t love it as much as the Whole Earth Farms duck pâté. I’ve tried to stretch what little I had left by mixing with Nutra Nuggets dry food. The combo sort of works but not the same results.

ParticipantI had a mini panic when my last bag of Whole Earth Farms dry cat food ran out. 😂 It was such an affordable yet quality grain-free option. The ingredients list was short, clean, and didn’t include weird by products. I’m currently feeding Kirkland Signature salmon and sweet potato dry cat food as a backup, but I still check online weekly to see if Whole Earth Farms restocks. Does anyone know if Merrick officially confirmed discontinuation yet?

ParticipantWhole Earth Farms cat food recall rumors were floating around, but I couldn’t find any official statement. My cat’s been eating it for years without any health issues. The naturally complete formula really suited her sensitive stomach. I’m guessing the “out of stock” situation is either a supplier issue or a quiet phase-out. If it’s really gone, I’ll probably try Lotus or Nature’s Domain both are decent grain-free alternatives that seem safe and reliable.

ParticipantI think Merrick might be retiring the Whole Earth Farms line altogether. 😢 I emailed them last week, and the response I got was vague just said “currently unavailable.” My local Petco removed the shelf labels too. My cats loved the Whole Earth Farms salmon cat food and the chicken recipe equally. I’ve started them on Pure Cravings chicken and pumpkin mix, which they tolerate okay, but it’s not quite the same quality. The search for a replacement continues!

ParticipantI had both my cats on Whole Earth Farms grain free wet cat food for about two years never had a single problem. Their coats looked great, and even my senior cat’s digestion improved. I noticed a huge difference after switching temporarily to another brand. I wish they’d at least make an announcement instead of just disappearing from Chewy and Petco. 😞 Anyone tried Nutra Nuggets dry cat food? Wondering if it’s a decent swap in the meantime.

ParticipantWhole Earth Farms was the perfect balance of price and quality. My cat adored the chicken and duck flavors, and the pate texture was just right not too mushy, not too firm. I’ve tried Lotus and Nature’s Domain since it vanished, and they’re good, but I still miss Whole Earth Farms. If Merrick really did discontinue it, that’s such a shame. It was one of the few grain-free brands that didn’t compromise on ingredients.
