ParticipantMy indoor cats love Merrick Backcountry Wet Cat Food rabbit flavor. They’re usually picky, but they finish these pouches happily. I mix in some freeze-dried chicken mixer, and they gobble it up. I like the grain-free raw-infused formulas for high protein. Compared to Blue Wilderness or Kirkland Signature, Merrick Backcountry seems more natural. Their coats are shinier, and they seem more energetic. I haven’t noticed any digestive issues. Walmart, PetSmart, and Chewy all carry it, and sometimes I can find coupons. I haven’t seen any recent recalls either.

ParticipantI recently switched my senior cat to Merrick Backcountry Wet Cat Food, mainly rabbit flavor. She’s usually picky with wet food, but she loves these pouches. I also tried the freeze-dried chicken mixer, and she eats it immediately. Compared to Nutra Nuggets or Pure Cravings, the Backcountry formulas are higher in protein and seem cleaner. Her coat is glossier, energy improved, and digestion normal. Chewy, PetSmart, and Walmart still carry the flavors I need. I’ve read some posts about shortages or discontinued flavors, but I’ve had no trouble buying it locally.

ParticipantMy kittens are loving Merrick Backcountry Grain-Free Wet Cat Food. The rabbit and game bird flavors are the favorites. I rotate occasionally with Nature’s Domain, but Backcountry seems to win every time. I also sprinkle a little freeze-dried chicken mixer, which they eat eagerly. Compared to Kirkland Signature and Pure Cravings, Merrick Backcountry seems more satisfying for them. Their energy levels are up, and coats are shinier. Digestion seems normal. Chewy and PetSmart have the pouches in stock, and Walmart sometimes carries the dry formulas. No recalls noticed so far.

ParticipantI tried Merrick Backcountry Dry Cat Food raw infused in rabbit flavor for my indoor cats. They usually avoid dry food, but this one they eat without hesitation. I occasionally mix in Nature’s Domain or Nutra Nuggets for variety. Their coats are softer, and energy has improved. I also gave them the wet pouches, which they enjoy. I’ve read online some people worry about Merrick Backcountry Cat Food phosphorus levels, but it’s been fine for my cats. Chewy and PetSmart have consistent stock. Freeze-dried chicken mixer is a nice bonus for picky eaters.

ParticipantMy indoor cats really enjoy Merrick Backcountry Wet Cat Food, mainly rabbit and game bird flavors. I sprinkle a little freeze-dried chicken mixer on top, which makes them eat faster. Compared to Blue Wilderness and Pure Cravings, Backcountry seems more protein-focused and natural. Energy levels are up, coats are shinier, and digestion is normal. I’ve tried the dry raw-infused formulas too, which they like. Walmart, Chewy, and PetSmart carry it, sometimes with coupons. I’ve seen chatter about discontinued flavors, but so far, I haven’t had issues finding what I need.

ParticipantI’ve been feeding my senior cat Merrick Backcountry Raw-Infused Dry Cat Food, mainly rabbit flavor. She’s usually picky, but she eats this consistently. I also mix in the wet pouches and sprinkle the freeze-dried chicken mixer occasionally. Compared to Kirkland Signature, Nature’s Domain, or Nutra Nuggets, Merrick Backcountry seems higher in real meat and protein. Her coat looks better, energy levels improved, and digestion is fine.
