ParticipantI’ve been looking into Wild Harvest cat food lately both the dry and wet formulas, including their grain-free and turkey varieties. I also came across their salmon recipe, but I’m not sure if it’s really high in protein, so I’d love to hear from anyone who has tried it.
Does anyone know who makes Wild Harvest cat food and if the brand is considered good overall? I’m especially curious about the ingredients in the dry and wet recipes and how they compare to other budget-friendly brands.
Also, where do you usually buy it? I’ve seen people mention it’s available in certain grocery chains, but I’m specifically wondering where to buy Wild Harvest cat food in Minnesota. Any store suggestions or online options would help!
If you’ve had any experiences good or bad drop your Wild Harvest cat food reviews below. Bonus points if you have info on the recall history, premium line, or if you’ve tried the 48-ounce bags.
Looking forward to your thoughts! 🐱💬

ParticipantI’ve used Wild Harvest cat food on and off, mostly the grain-free turkey and the regular dry recipe. My older cat actually likes the Wild Harvest dry cat food more than I expected, though I do mix in a little Pure Cravings sometimes to keep her interested. I get why people ask if Wild Harvest cat food is good, because the price is definitely more budget-friendly. I pick it up at a local grocery chain, though finding where to buy Wild Harvest cat food in Minnesota took me a bit. Cub Foods had it!

ParticipantMy two boys really enjoyed the Wild Harvest wet cat food, especially the salmon one, but I’m still unsure if the Wild Harvest salmon cat food is actually high in protein or just marketed that way. Ingredient list looks decent for the price though. I rotate it with Nature’s Domain when I want something a little heavier in meat content. I like stocking up on the Wild Harvest cat food 48-ounce bags because it lasts longer. Haven’t had issues with freshness so far, but I always check for any recall news just in case.

ParticipantI started using Wild Harvest grain free cat food when I was trying to switch my sensitive-stomach kitty off Nutra Nuggets. It’s surprisingly gentle on her digestion. I’d never even heard who makes Wild Harvest brand cat food until someone in a local group mentioned it’s a store line connected to Supervalu. Not sure how accurate that is, though. I buy it at a Minnesota grocery store near my sister’s place when I visit. She feeds exclusively Kirkland Signature, but her cat wouldn’t stop stealing mine’s Wild Harvest turkey pouch. 😂

ParticipantMy cat only likes certain textures, so Wild Harvest wet cat food was kind of hit or miss. The turkey was great, the salmon not so much. I always wonder if Wild Harvest cat food ingredients vary by region or something. I compare everything I buy to Pure Cravings now because that brand spoiled me with simple ingredients. Still, for the price Wild Harvest is solid. No recall issues personally, but I know people like to double-check. I grabbed mine from a small grocery store since finding where to buy Wild Harvest cat food locally took forever.

ParticipantI’ve actually had better luck with Wild Harvest dry cat food than the wet stuff. The Wild Harvest dry cat food ingredients list isn’t amazing, but it’s not awful for something so budget-conscious. It’s definitely better than a lot of random store brands I used before. I keep the 48-ounce bag on hand for emergencies. My kitten didn’t love it, but my adult cat is fine with it. I sometimes mix in a handful of Nutra Nuggets when I’m stretching my budget a bit. Works surprisingly well to keep her interested!

ParticipantIf anyone’s wondering “is Wild Harvest cat food good for picky cats?” — my answer is maybe. My picky girl only touches the Wild Harvest cat food turkey recipe. Everything else she sniffs and walks off dramatically. I rotate between this and Kirkland Signature’s chicken formula. For people asking where to buy Wild Harvest cat food in Minnesota, I found it at a Hornbacher’s when I was visiting my cousin. I like knowing what’s in their food, and while I’m not blown away by all the ingredients, it’s decent enough for the price bracket.

ParticipantSo I got curious about Wild Harvest when someone posted a Wild Harvest dry cat food picture on Facebook and talked about how affordable it was. My cat doesn’t eat much at once, so I have to keep switching between wet and dry. The Wild Harvest wet cat food works on days she refuses kibble. I also rotate Pure Cravings because she loves anything fishy. I haven’t run into any Wild Harvest cat food recall issues, thank goodness. Honestly, I feel like it’s a decent mid-tier option for people watching their budget.

ParticipantI used Wild Harvest grain free cat food for a few months when money was tight. For the price, it held up better than I expected. My vet said it’s okay as long as my cat is maintaining weight, which he is. I do wonder who makes Wild Harvest brand cat food because getting accurate info is weirdly difficult. It’s everywhere in smaller supermarkets but not as common online. If you want more protein, Pure Cravings or Nature’s Domain definitely win, but Wild Harvest is a workable everyday food.

ParticipantMy cat has allergies, so I check every label obsessively. The Wild Harvest cat food ingredients list is okay but not perfect. The turkey works best for her. The salmon recipe caused mild itching, so I’m guessing it’s not the cleanest formulation. Still, it’s better than the super cheap stuff I used before. I stock up at a Minnesota store when I visit family since I can’t find it where I live now. I supplement with Kirkland Signature sometimes because it’s easier to find. Both seem to mix fine.

ParticipantFor anyone asking where to buy Wild Harvest cat food, I found it in a handful of regional grocery stores, but Amazon didn’t always have the exact flavors I wanted. My cats like the Wild Harvest wet cat food turkey recipe way more than the salmon, which surprised me because they usually love fish. I’ve compared it to Nutra Nuggets and it holds up okay for the price. No recall issues on my end. I keep the 48-ounce bag because I feed three cats, and honestly it disappears faster than expected.

ParticipantMy experience has been fine with Wild Harvest cat food overall. It’s not luxurious, but it’s reliable. My older cat doesn’t digest the salmon very well, but the grain free turkey kibble is one of the few things she’ll eat without throwing up. I rotate with Pure Cravings to keep her coat shiny. I bought Wild Harvest dry cat food at a Minnesota grocery store last summer when visiting family. Now I pick it up locally whenever I can. Wish the company was more transparent about who makes it, though.

ParticipantThe Wild Harvest premium cat food line is actually better than I expected, though “premium” is definitely a stretch compared to brands like Nature’s Domain or Pure Cravings. The wet food is decent if your cat likes paté textures. Mine goes nuts for the turkey version. I always check for any Wild Harvest cat food recall updates because my previous brand had issues. So far, so good. The 48-ounce bag lasts us about two weeks with two medium-size cats. I’d recommend it for budget-conscious cat parents who still want okay ingredients.

ParticipantI started with Wild Harvest wet cat food for my senior cat because he struggles with dry kibble. The turkey flavor is his favorite, though I wish the moisture content were a little higher. I still mix in a splash of warm water to make it softer. The Wild Harvest cat food ingredients aren’t perfect, but they’re not too bad either. I’ve been mixing in Nature’s Domain when I want something grain-free without spending too much. Haven’t seen any recall alerts on it recently, so it feels safe enough.

ParticipantThe Wild Harvest dry cat food ingredients aren’t too complicated, which I appreciate. My younger cat likes crunchier kibble, so this is one he’ll at least nibble at. It’s not as protein-heavy as Pure Cravings, but for a store brand it’s decent. I also love the 48-ounce bag because it’s cheap and lasts longer. For anyone wondering if Wild Harvest salmon cat food is high in protein — not really. It’s okay, not amazing. Still better than some bargain-bin brands I’ve tried. I buy it from a local grocery chain.
