CatChowMix
ParticipantSimply Puree cat treats immediately became the go-to motivator for nail trimming at my house. I hold the tube while clipping, and my cat stays calm and focused the whole time. The Wild Eats Simply Puree cat treats helped switch up flavors so he doesn’t lose interest. I add some to Pure Cravings cans when his appetite dips. These puree treats just make daily care easier, especially with older cats who need softer foods.

ParticipantMy senior cat eats The Honest Kitchen Prowl dehydrated cat food. 😻 Ingredients in The Honest Kitchen cat food are high-quality, human-grade, and digestible. Bowls are gone immediately, and I sometimes add MMMIXERS topper for flavor. Petco, Amazon Canada, and Honest Kitchen online are my sources. Carb content is lower than Kirkland Signature or typical kibble, which helps with weight management. Hairballs are fewer, digestion is smoother, and coat is shiny. I highly recommend sample packs first to test picky cats they usually prefer the dehydrated formula over dry kibble.

ParticipantMy kittens love Health Extension grain-free dry cat food, specifically the chicken & brown rice recipe. Bowls are empty every time! 😻 Ingredients in Health Extension cat food are high-quality and digestible. Hairball control has improved, digestion is smoother, and coats are shinier. I rotate wet options like Holistic Health Extension canned food or Pure Cravings dry cat food. Amazon and Chewy are reliable sources, sometimes with coupons. Price is higher than Kirkland Signature, but energy, digestion, and coat improvements make it worth it. Definitely a holistic natural choice for kittens.

ParticipantMy cat is obsessed with the Lotus Just Juicy Pork Stew grain-free canned cat food! It’s one of the few foods she eats without leaving leftovers. I’ve tried other brands like Pure Cravings and Fromm, but she always seems to come back to Lotus wet cat food. I appreciate that it’s cooked in small batches with real ingredients. I do wish it was more affordable, but at least there’s peace of mind knowing it’s made in a human-grade kitchen with no fillers.

ParticipantThe case purchasing requires adequate storage space for bulk quantities. Twenty-four to thirty cans per case take significant pantry space. Need storage planning before committing to bulk purchasing. Trade-off between savings and storage convenience.

10/23/2025 at 2:46 pm in reply to: Royal Canin Cat Food Reviews: Is It Really Vet Recommended? #1443CatChowMix
ParticipantROYAL CANIN VS HILL’S SCIENCE DIET (vet brand comparison)
Both are vet-recommended with similar approaches:
Royal Canin advantages:
More breed-specific options available
Wider variety of prescription formulas
Different kibble shapes for various needs
Strong presence in veterinary researchHill’s advantages:
Generally more affordable pricing
Ingredients look slightly better to consumers
Long-established reputation in pet nutrition
Extensive clinical testing as wellMy take: Both are legitimate science-based brands despite ingredient lists that don’t impress pet food enthusiasts. For medical conditions, use whichever your vet recommends based on your cat’s specific needs. For general health, either works fine. The choice often comes down to which one your individual cat prefers eating.
10/22/2025 at 5:12 pm in reply to: My Honest Review: What I Learned Feeding My Cat Applaws Cat Food? #1430CatChowMix
ParticipantTHE BROTH IS AMAZING!! 😻 Unlike thick artificial gravy in most cat foods, Applaws has this light natural cooking broth that cats LOVE. My girl drinks every drop before even touching the meat. The hydration benefit is incredible she’s getting moisture naturally from her food instead of me constantly worrying about her water intake.
Her urinary health has improved since switching because she’s properly hydrated now. The simplicity of just meat and natural broth is perfect. No weird thickeners or artificial flavors needed. 🎉💕
