SoJo’s natural cat food has been a huge hit in my household. I tried the freeze-dried recipes first, then the grain-free freeze-dried cat food and turkey complete cat food. Compared to Pure Cravings and Nutra Nuggets, it feels higher quality and more wholesome. I checked SoJo’s cat food reviews and ingredients everything seems clean, and no recent recalls. Cats eat enthusiastically, digestion is smooth, and coats look great. Online and some Canadian stores carry it. Portion sizes are convenient. Highly recommend for anyone looking for freeze-dried or natural cat food options.

Evanger’s Organic Braised Chicken Canned Cat Food is my senior cat’s all-time favorite! She used to eat Nature’s Domain but always left half behind. Now she finishes her plate every time. I really appreciate that Evanger’s Cat Food has simple ingredients like chicken, broth, and liver no gums or preservatives. The EVx Restricted Diet Cat Food line is great too if your cat needs something medical-grade. I find Chewy usually has the best prices, though PetSmart sometimes has better stock availability.

My vet specifically said the DCM grain-free concerns don’t apply to cats the way they did to certain dog breeds. Feline heart health relates to taurine levels, which Taste of the Wild includes adequately. She sees no reason to avoid quality grain-free formulas for cats based on dog-related concerns.

For cats with recurring urinary issues, Pro Plan Focus Urinary formula provides preventative nutrition. My cat had two UTI episodes before switching. Since starting urinary formula eighteen months ago, zero issues. The specialized nutrition genuinely helps maintain urinary health. Preventative approach beats treating recurring problems.

SHEBA VS FANCY FEAST (mass-market comparison)

    Both widely available brands:

    Sheba advantages:

    Perfect Portions eliminate waste
    Pre-measured servings help portion control
Fresher since nothing sits after opening
    Convenient single-serve format
    Better for weight management

    Fancy Feast advantages:

    More flavor variety overall
    Slightly more affordable often
    Can sizes offer flexibility
    Longer established reputation
    Better sales frequency

My assessment: Sheba for convenience and portion control. Fancy Feast for variety and value. Both provide adequate mass-market nutrition. Choice depends whether convenience justifies small price premium.
