I recently switched my indoor cats to The Honest Kitchen grain-free turkey recipe dehydrated cat food. 😺 Bowls empty in seconds! Ingredients in The Honest Kitchen cat food are clean and human-grade. I rotate with Holistic Health Extension wet cat food occasionally. Petco, Amazon Canada, and Honest Kitchen online are convenient sources. Carb content is lower than Nutra Nuggets or Kirkland Signature, which is great for indoor cats. Hairballs are fewer, digestion smoother, and coats shinier. Sample packs are great for testing flavors. Overall, a premium option I’d recommend for sensitive or picky cats.

I tried Health Extension allergic cat food for my long-haired cat. Ingredients in Health Extension cat food are high-quality and gentle on digestion. Soft stools have decreased, hairballs are fewer, and coat shine improved. I rotate wet food like Holistic Health Extension canned beef or turkey. Amazon and Chewy are reliable sources, sometimes with coupons. Price is higher than Nutra Nuggets, but health improvements make it worth it. Great option for cats with allergies or sensitivities. Holistic Health Extension wet cat food is perfect for hydration and flavor variety.

I’ve used both Lotus wet cat food and dry food for about a year. My cats especially love the Lotus Just Juicy Venison and Chicken recipes. I think what sets it apart is the freshness the cans don’t smell overly processed, and the meat chunks look real. I’ve had better luck with Lotus than with Nature’s Domain or Pure Cravings. I haven’t noticed any digestive issues at all. It’s just tough to find where to buy Lotus cat food locally; I stick to Chewy.

My cat’s urinary health benefits from daily Kirkland wet food feeding. The increased moisture intake supports kidney function and prevents crystal formation. Vet specifically praised consistent wet feeding for her urinary markers even though it’s budget Costco brand.

For people who enjoy supporting truly small businesses, Nacho represents that opportunity. You’re buying from operation where your purchase matters to their bottom line. The personal scale means customer feedback actually influences the company. Different dynamic than purchasing from corporations where individual consumers are invisible.

Speaking as someone who works in veterinary medicine, Royal Canin invests heavily in actual research and clinical trials. They have their own research facility and veterinary nutritionists on staff. The formulas are designed for specific health conditions with precise nutrient profiles.

Yes, the ingredients might not look “premium” to consumers, but they’re selected for digestibility and bioavailability. A fancy ingredient that isn’t properly absorbed doesn’t help your cat. The prescription diets have proven efficacy for managing various health conditions. That said, for healthy cats without special needs, there are other good options available.

COMPLEMENTARY VS COMPLETE!! āš ļø Important note many Applaws wet foods are labeled “complementary” not “complete & balanced” This means they’re designed to be toppers or supplements, not sole nutrition sources.

I use Applaws wet as meal toppers over complete dry food for best of both worlds. The dry food formulas ARE complete though. Just read labels carefully and feed appropriately. Mixing complementary wet with complete dry gives nutritional balance plus hydration and natural protein. šŸ±šŸ’š
