ParticipantMy kittens have been eating Redford Naturals grain-free sensitive stomach kitten cat food. Bowls are always empty! 😺 Ingredients in Redford Naturals cat food seem very digestible high protein, low filler. Hairball control is better, and coats are shinier. I rotate with Nutra Nuggets and Pure Cravings wet cat food for hydration. I usually buy through Amazon or Chewy. Price is higher than Kirkland Signature, but my kittens’ energy, digestion, and healthy growth make it worth it. Redford Naturals cat food seems like a solid choice for kittens, especially those with sensitive tummies.

ParticipantMy cats have been eating Blackwood grain free cat food chicken 13.22 lb bags. Bowls are licked clean every day! 😸 Ingredients in Blackwood cat food seem better than most budget options, mostly real meat and some healthy carbs. Hairball and digestion control have improved. I rotate with Nature’s Domain wet cat food for hydration. Amazon has been my main source, though Shopee Malaysia has good deals too. Price is higher than Nutra Nuggets, but the difference in energy and coat shine makes it feel worth it. Blackwood seems like a true premium cat food option.

ParticipantI’ve been mixing Against the Grain canned cat food with Pure Cravings tuna pâté, and my cats are in heaven. They especially love the Chicken & Pumpkin Samba flavor I think it’s the pumpkin that wins them over. It’s great that there’s no artificial gunk in it. I checked and didn’t find any Against the Grain cat food recall recently, which is good news. I buy mine from Chewy, but Petco also carries the main flavors. If your cat’s a picky eater, this might be worth a shot.
10/29/2025 at 3:13 pm in reply to: Dry Cat Food Review: Honest Thoughts on Finding the Right One #2386PawProteinPro
ParticipantVeterinary nutritionist perspective – dry food is nutritionally complete and many cats live healthy lives on quality kibble. However, moisture content remains legitimate concern. Cats have low thirst drive evolving as desert hunters getting moisture from prey. Chronic mild dehydration on dry food can stress kidneys long-term. Quality wet food or mixed feeding (dry plus wet) better supports hydration. Dry food isn’t poison but wet food aligns better with feline biology. For healthy young cats, quality dry food works adequately. For senior cats or those with kidney/urinary concerns, wet food strongly recommended. Mixed feeding provides practical middle ground – convenience of kibble with hydration benefits of wet food.

ParticipantCanadian quality standards! 🇨🇦 Orijen is made in Canada with locally sourced ingredients from trusted farmers. Canadian regulations on pet food are strict and quality control is excellent. Knowing where ingredients come from and how food is made gives me confidence.
The transparency about sourcing (they list specific regions) is refreshing in an industry full of mystery ingredients. Supporting responsible sourcing and ethical farming matters to me. 💙🌟

ParticipantTHE PROBIOTIC MAKES A DIFFERENCE!! 💪 Nulo includes BC30 probiotic in their formulas it’s clinically studied and actually survives digestion. My cat’s poops are smaller, firmer, and less smelly since switching. Her digestion is clearly better. Plus probiotics support immune health. It’s a small detail but it really sets Nulo apart from competitors. 🙏✨
