ParticipantMy cats are obsessed with inaba churu lickable cat treats. I usually pair them with Kirkland Signature dry food or Nature’s Domain wet meals, and the purée disappears fast. Portioning is easy with the tubes, and I like that they’re high in protein and mostly meat-based. I also give them as a snack during playtime or as a reward after vet visits. The creamy texture seems to make picky cats more willing to eat, and my older cat handles it easily. Not a full meal, but perfect for bonding and treats.

ParticipantFriskies party mix beachside crunch cat treats are my cat’s favorite lately. I usually mix in a few Friskies natural yums catnip flavor treats for variety. They also get Pure Cravings wet food in the evenings, so treats don’t replace meals. I love that Friskies cat treats come in 20 oz or 30 oz packsit lasts a while for multiple cats. Friskies temptations cat treats are good too, but the playful and pull n play treats really keep them engaged. No tummy issues, and snack time is a bonding moment.

ParticipantHonestly, I was skeptical at first about Ziwi Peak cat food. $6 per pound seemed insane. But after feeding my cat the air-dried lamb recipe, I noticed she’s more active, her coat is softer, and she actually wants to eat. We mix in a tiny bit of Kirkland dry food for budget rotation, but she clearly prefers Ziwi Peak. The air-dried approach makes a huge difference, and you can actually smell the quality. Expensive? Absolutely. Worth it? For me, yes seeing her health improve has been priceless.

ParticipantI’ve been feeding my cats Merrick Before Grain Canned Cat Food, and they’re obsessed. Appetite is up, digestion has improved, and litter box odors are down. Compared to Kirkland or Nature’s Domain, I notice much better ingredient quality and fewer fillers. Even picky eaters are finishing bowls happily. Mixing some wet Merrick with dry Backcountry or Purrfect Bistro keeps meals exciting and varied. Coats are shinier, energy is higher, and hairballs are fewer. It feels like a premium choice that actually makes a difference in overall health and satisfaction for indoor cats.

10/28/2025 at 9:36 am in reply to: Honest Purina Cat Chow Complete Dry Cat Food Reviews: My Experience #2045PurrKitchenCo
ParticipantSeven years feeding Cat Chow Complete and my cat remains alive and reasonably healthy. Not thriving at peak condition but maintaining acceptable health on extreme budget. Her coat isn’t stunning, energy isn’t exceptional, but she’s not suffering or sick. Regular vet checkups show adequate health markers without major concerns. The massive financial savings allowed keeping her during periods of genuine hardship when premium food would have meant surrendering her.
Cat Chow isn’t optimal nutrition and I’d upgrade if finances improved. However, it serves essential purpose – keeping cats fed and alive when budgets are desperately tight. For people in real poverty or financial crisis, very cheap adequate food prevents heartbreaking choices between feeding pets or feeding families. Not recommending this for anyone who can afford better.
If your budget allows, choose higher quality for your cat’s health. But for those facing genuine financial hardship, Cat Chow provides basic nutrition allowing pet ownership to continue during difficult times. Sometimes adequate is enough when optimal isn’t financially possible. No judgment for feeding this – doing best with available resources is all anyone can ask.
