The Vital Essentials wild Alaskan salmon freeze-dried cat treats made my picky girl actually run toward me. She usually only budges for Pure Cravings fish toppers. These salmon cubes are crunchy but not rock-hard, which I prefer because I’ve heard cracked-tooth stories from the full minnows. She had zero tummy issues either, unlike when she tried that Nutra Nuggets lamb flavor last year. I know some people mentioned vital essentials cat treats recall rumors, but I checked my bag and it’s all clear. This brand feels like raw diet lite.

My cats absolutely love Temptations cat treats 16 oz and 30 oz bagsthey last for a while and keep them excited. I rotate in Temptations cat treats catnip and creamy puree lickable cat treats for variety. They get Pure Cravings wet food or Kirkland Signature dry food for meals. The treat dispenser toys are a favoritethey make the cats work for their treats, which they love. I checked Temptations cat treats recall info and ingredients, and everything looks safe. No digestive problems. Snack time has become an interactive bonding activity for all my cats.

My cats are loving Taste of the Wild Rocky Mountain cat food, especially the salmon flavor. I mix in Blue Buffalo Tastefuls wet cat food a few times per week, and their bowls are always empty. They were previously eating Nutra Nuggets and Kirkland, but I notice more energy, softer coats, and smoother digestion now. Tastefuls is gentle for sensitive stomachs, while Taste of the Wild is higher in protein. I’ve found Chewy offers good variety packs, but Tractor Supply sometimes carries the larger dry bags. Definitely worth the switch for my picky cats.

I’ve been feeding Instinct Dry Cat Food to my two cats for a month now. Appetite has increased, digestion is smoother, and their coats are shiny. Compared to Kirkland Signature or Pure Cravings, it feels higher quality and human grade. I add a little wet food or raw boost pieces for variety, and they love it. Even the picky eater finishes bowls without fuss. Energy levels are up, hairballs are down, and litter box odor is minimal. Feels like a real upgrade from regular grocery brand dry foods.

The nutrient density means dramatically smaller portions satisfy nutritional needs completely. My cat eats literally 1/3 the volume compared to premium kibble. The 14oz bag lasts almost three weeks instead of one week. When calculating actual cost-per-feeding versus cost-per-pound, premium narrows though still expensive.

FANCY FEAST WET DAILY Seven Years

    My long-term daily wet feeding:

Years 1-2: Started Fancy Feast wet food daily for hydration benefits. My cat Oscar transitioned eagerly loved wet texture and variety. Weight stayed stable throughout. Digestion good. He ate enthusiastically every meal.

Years 3-4: His coat seemed somewhat dull compared to cats on premium food but acceptable. Energy adequate though not exceptional. Vet checkups showed normal ranges. No major concerns raised.

Years 5-6: Continued daily Fancy Feast feeding. He maintained steady adequate health. The variety prevented boredom rotating flavors kept meals interesting. Hydration benefits visible in healthy kidney function.

Year 7 (Current): Seven years of daily Fancy Feast wet food. He’s maintained stable health throughout period. Not thriving at peak but adequately healthy and properly hydrated. Grateful affordable wet food exists.

Assessment: Fancy Feast kept him hydrated and adequately nourished for seven years. Better than dry-only feeding budget would have forced. Adequate if budget prevents premium wet food.
