I started my cats on Performatrin Ultra grain free dry cat food a few weeks ago, and they’re loving the limited potato & salmon cat food. Bowls are always clean! 😻 Ingredients seem solid, especially compared to other premium brands like Nature’s Domain or Pure Cravings. I also tried the ocean recipe canned cat food for variety, and my senior cat seemed to enjoy it. Chewy has been my main source for Performatrin Ultra cat food, though I’ve seen it at PetSmart and some Canadian stores. Hairball and digestion control seem promising so far.

I’ve been rotating between American Journey salmon recipe grain-free dry cat food and the turkey & chicken grain-free canned cat food, and it’s been great! My senior cat has more energy and no more hairballs. I like that the American Journey cat food line lists real meat as the first ingredient. I used to feed Nature’s Domain, but this one seems gentler on digestion. Has anyone noticed if it’s good for cats with mild kidney sensitivity? Also curious if there’s ever been an American Journey cat food recall?

I had my doubts about the hype around Dr. Elsey’s cat food, but after trying it, I get it. The ingredient quality is top-tier, and it truly is low-carb. My diabetic cat’s glucose levels are stable for the first time in years. The CleanProtein canned food has been a game-changer.

For multi cat households, Friskies’ affordability makes feeding several cats wet food financially possible. I have four cats and Friskies wet food keeps them all hydrated daily. Premium wet food would cost $400+ monthly impossible for my budget. Friskies at $150 monthly makes it manageable.

FARMINA N&D VS ORIJEN (both premium brands):

I’ve fed both extensively, here’s my breakdown:

    Farmina wins for:

    Better price point (more affordable!)
    Wider variety of protein sources
    Functional ingredients (pomegranate, pumpkin, etc.)
    Better digestibility (smaller poops!)
    Grain-inclusive options available

    Orijen wins for:

    Slightly higher protein percentages
    Regional ingredients emphasis
    Stronger brand recognition in US
    Freeze-dried coating (some cats prefer)

My verdict: Both are excellent! Farmina offers better VALUE for the quality. The science-based formulation gives me confidence. I prefer Farmina for everyday feeding. 💚🐾

For anyone worried about raw food safety freeze-dried is THE way to go! 🦠 I was terrified of bacteria with raw feeding but Stella & Chewy uses HPP (high pressure processing) to eliminate pathogens while keeping nutrients intact. It’s safe to handle, doesn’t need refrigeration until rehydrated, and has long shelf life! Best of both worlds raw nutrition without the scary bacteria risks! Did tons of research before trying and felt totally comfortable! 💙✨
