My cat has food sensitivities, so finding minnow freeze dried cat treats has been a relief. No corn, no wheat, no preservativesjust protein. I mix them with Pure Cravings tuna and she doesn’t scratch or sneeze afterward, which is huge for us. They’re crunchy but not rock-hard, and she seems to enjoy that satisfying snap. cat treats minnows might look a bit shocking the first time you open the bag, but it’s the cleanest ingredient list I’ve found in any treat.

I recently introduced Hound & Gatos dry cat food to my picky eater. He loves the chicken & liver formula, and I supplement with rabbit and lamb wet food. I compared hound & gatos cat food ingredients to Nutra Nuggets and Kirkland Signature, and it feels more natural and organic. I checked online reviews, and people mentioned shiny coats and better digestion I’m noticing that too. Availability is pretty good online and in local stores. Definitely a brand I’d keep in rotation, especially for cats who prefer a mix of wet and dry meals.

I tried RAWZ canned cat food after seeing someone post about ash in RAWZ cat food possibly being lower than average. I wouldn’t say it’s dramatically lower, but the ingredients are definitely cleaner. My cat does best on RAWZ salmon cat food and the chicken & turkey combo. I like the fact that RAWZ cat food is cooked gently and not packed with artificial thickeners. I used to stick to Nature’s Domain because of price, but RAWZ feels more “real.” I just wish shipping wasn’t so slow when I order RAWZ cat food online.

I tried Nom Nom Now cat food for my senior cat. Ingredients in Nom Nom Now cat food seem really clean and balanced. Soft stools have improved, hairballs are fewer, and energy is up. I sometimes mix in Nom Nom fresh wet cat food or Pure Cravings dry cat food. Amazon, the official Nom Nom store, and Chewy are convenient sources. Price is definitely higher than Kirkland Signature, but visible improvements in coat and digestion make it worth it. For picky or sensitive cats, Nom Nom cat food feels like a premium option worth trying.

Dave’s Grain Free Cat Food has been a staple in my house for years. My cats rotate between that and Kirkland Signature dry food. The difference in coat shine and energy is noticeable when they’re on Dave’s. I especially like the Turkey & Giblets flavor less mushy than most canned foods. My cats also enjoy the Dave’s Pet Food Cat’s Meow line. I think it’s made in smaller batches, which might explain why it sometimes sells out quickly on Chewy.

The ingredient lists look reasonably acceptable but without knowing actual manufacturing standards or quality control processes, can’t properly evaluate real quality. Ingredients listed versus actual product quality can differ dramatically between companies. Established brands have verifiable manufacturing standards while unknown brands remain completely questionable.

SIMPLY NOURISH VS NATURAL BALANCE (both natural brands)

    Comparing natural positioning:

    Simply Nourish advantages:

    More affordable pricing overall
    Available in physical PetSmart stores
    Adequate natural formulations
    Better budget fit
    Can see product before purchasing

    Natural Balance advantages:

    Longer established natural brand reputation
    More formula variety available
Better known in natural pet food community
    Wider retailer distribution
    More specialized options

My assessment: Simply Nourish for budget-conscious natural feeding. Natural Balance for established reputation and variety. Both provide quality natural nutrition. Choice depends on budget priorities and shopping preferences.

    Available variety:

Zero Grain: Grain-free formulas, various proteins
Indoor Complete: For indoor cats, moderate calories
Wholesome Favorites: Traditional recipes with grains
Wet food varieties: Pate and cuts in gravy options

Decent selection covering basic needs. Nothing exotic or specialized but covers common requirements. I rotate between chicken and salmon Zero Grain formulas. My cat accepts both without issue.
